EG & G 181
The 181 preamplifier is normally used with a PAR lock-in amplifier to create a sensitive system optimized for measuring low-level signals, such as those encountered in photometry or semiconductor research. The resulting system has lower noise, responds better to frequencies, has a greater dynamic range, better phase accuracy, and a lower input resistance than most other low-level measuring instruments provide. When the meter is operated with the lock-in amplifier, the overall system is equivalent to the lock-in amplifier, amplified by the 181 A/V sensitivity settings. This can range from 10E-04 to 10E-09. The output attenuator achieves a 10:1 attenuation of the output voltage. It also features overload protection. CURRENT PREAMPLIFIER
