National Instruments 8262

Designed for PXI Express systems, the NI-8262 (Part Number: 780064-01) is a cabled PCI Express module from National Instruments. This module can easily be combined with the NI-8264 and NI-8263 RAID HDD Enclosures to achieve total storage capacities of 3 TB and 1 TB respectively. This module offers x4 connectivity, since it comes equipped with an x4 PCIe slot. The x4 connectivity provides data transfer over four lanes to and from the PCIe module. The NI-8262 is used as an integral part of PXI Express-based data streaming systems. In these systems, the NI-8262 is deployed in a hybrid peripheral or PXIe slot of a chassis. The module is connected to an external hard drive enclosure via a PCIe x4 cable. The hard drive enclosure comes equipped with a set of SATA II hard drives and a RAID controller. This module also works in any CompactPCI standard peripheral slot. The x4 cables used with this module are non-polarized, and either end of the cable can be connected to either card. By form factor and design, the NI-8262 is a CompactPCI Express or 3U PXI Express module and requires one peripheral slot. However, it can only be hosted by slots that support an x4 PCIe connection. The National Instruments NI-8262 complies with the specifications defined for PXI and CompactPCI Express systems. While operating under typical conditions, the NI-8262 draws approximately 1.80 amperes of current.
