The DLS 400 simulates a single twisted-pair cable,
and includes up to 2 optional impairments cards.
The user can select the simulated loop and the length of the variable loops
using the IEEE 488 or the RS-232 interface.
The command language in both cases is based on the Standard Commands
for Programmable Interfaces (SCPI) standard.
